Lead us not into temptation

Hear instruction, and refuse it not. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life;In the way of righteousness is life.A voice came from heaven, "You are my son, the Beloved; with whom I am well pleased.the temptation from came.

If you are the son of God,..command these stones to become loaves of bread"m,Jesus refused and quoted a scripture from the bible saying One does not live by bread alone, but every word thwa comes from the mouth of God" Miraclous power cannot be used for personal use.

from that rebuttal, the tempter picks up the challenge again. the devil took him to the holy city and placed on the pinnacle of the temple saying to him, "If you be the son of God, Throw yourself down and the angles will catch you. Jesus replied, 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.

That is a fascinating and profoundly biblical theme; we humans are tested/tempted to tempt/test God. In the biblical tradition, it is normal and acceptable for God to test/temt us, but abnormal adn unacceptable for us to test/tempt God.Why? because our covenantal character and  commitment can change like the moon, but God's is as steady as the sun.

The last temptation goes like this. He knows he is the son of God and prceeds from that basis. The devil led him up and showed him all the kiingdoms of the world, All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me." Jesus refused that worship with a citation of the bible It is written, 'Worship the lord your God, and serve only him" Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity, and every good path.

There's so much wisdom to be learned, so many ways for me to grow,Wisdom is understanding what's really important.
