Praying in Faith

And whosoever shall speak a word against the son of man it shall be forgiven him, but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say God's people. Show genuine, unselfish love for one another, Jesus said: By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves." (John 13:35)

The early christians had such love for one another, Godly love overcomes racial, social, and national barriers and draws people together in an unbreakable bond of true brotherhood. (Colossians 3:14) Have you heard the story about the 85 year old man who was arrested for praying? You probably have.

That is the story of Daniel =, an elderly Jewish resident in Babylon sentenced to death for faithfully talking to God (Daniel6) Although the prayer that sent Daniel to the lions den is most famous talk with God (6:11) it was not the only time we see him in prayer. Daniel 9, we read an example of how he prayed. Daniel had been reading in his scroll of Jeremiah that the captivity of his people would last 70 years into the exile(Jeremiah 8-11). He was eager for it to end.
