Quiet Strength: A Grandmother’s Discernment in a Loud World

The Woman at White Castle – A Lesson in Discernment and Quiet Strength

Abba Yahusha, Heavenly Father,
Let Your Spirit guide this message. Let it reach hearts in truth and gentleness, bringing clarity and protection to the innocent. Let it stir in us a holy boldness wrapped in quiet strength. HaleluYah.

Yesterday, I took my granddaughter into White Castle because she needed to use the restroom. While waiting, I noticed a woman—older, small in stature, and slim in build. But what truly stood out wasn’t her appearance. It was her energy.

She held herself with a bold, almost arrogant confidence. It wasn’t the kind of strength that nurtures or uplifts—it was sharp, calculated, and oddly performative. I felt it right away, the way spiritual people often do when something deeper moves beneath the surface. I sensed she used her life experience, not to protect or serve others, but to maneuver, to gain what this world calls power.

Even then, I left room for grace. I know perception is not always truth.

As the moment unfolded, I approached the counter to ask for the restroom to be opened. The woman, who had been standing nearby, moved with a head start toward the restrooms and the exit. Though the women’s restroom was available, she reached for the men’s room door, turned to me and said, “Here you go,” as if suggesting it was the only option.

I paused. Not in fear. Not in confusion. But in a deliberate quietness. I was walking slowly to give my granddaughter space. And under my breath I spoke—so she wouldn’t hear—“Don’t be stupid.”

Because I knew the truth: she was performing control. She wanted to insert herself where no invitation was given. Just then, the women’s restroom buzzer rang, revealing the truth. The woman averted her eyes, turned away, and exited.

In that moment, I saw something familiar. A spirit that disguises itself as helpful but is rooted in pride and dominance. It reminded me of the evil stepmother in Snow White—the kind who sees purity and seeks to tarnish it, who feels threatened by innocence, and tries to confuse the young to protect her fragile illusion of control.

This experience reminded me of a few vital truths:

 Discernment is spiritual armor.
Innocence is always under attack by those who feel they've lost their own. As protectors—especially of children—we must stay alert. Not everything that looks helpful is kind. Not every gesture is genuine.

Quiet strength speaks louder than confrontation.
I didn’t need to raise my voice or match her energy. I simply stood in truth, guided by peace and presence. That is power. That is how Yahusha moved—in love, but never in weakness.

Protect the spirit of children.
These subtle interactions teach children whether they can trust their instincts, their space, and their value. We must ensure they are shielded not just from obvious dangers, but from the small manipulations that chip away at self-worth.

In closing, I offer this as a word to all spiritual guardians:
Trust what you sense. Move in quiet strength. Stand firm in truth, and always leave room for grace—but never at the expense of innocence.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wisdom in everyday encounters. Help us to protect the ones You’ve entrusted to us and to walk in quiet authority. Let our presence reflect Yours—steady, discerning, and full of truth. HaleluYah.
