the chest conceived of as the seat of the emotions and intimate feelings a story you will take to your bosom. b : the security and intimacy of or like that of being hugged to someone's bosom the bosom of her family.

What does the bosom represent in the Bible?

"Bosom of Abraham" refers to the place of comfort in the biblical Sheol (or Hades in the Greek Septuagint version of the Hebrew scriptures from around 200 BC, and therefore so described in the New Testament) where the righteous dead await Judgment Day.

 

Genesis 16:5
