Narcissus catches sight of his own reflection in a pool of water and falls in love. When he realises his love can never be satisfied, he kills himself.
A dirty mirror is symbolic of bad habits or a vice that has been holding you back. It is preventing you from seeing yourself as you truly are and undermining your self worth. If there is a habit that you have been feeling guilty about. It is a sign to nip it in the bud.
Reflections on Reflections
Scholars have suggested that reflection in the early myths of Europe acts as a signifier for self-awareness. These earliest stories tell how humans came to be aware of themselves and reflection serves as a suitable metaphor for that.
Every time we look into the mirror and recognise ourselves, we are part vain Narcissus and part courageous Perseus.
The law of reflection is based on the concept that we pick up each other’s unconscious energies and “act them out.” We reflect each other.
Yeshayah (Isaiah) 3:1-8
[1] For look, the Master, יהוה of hosts, is turning aside from Yerushalayim and from Yehuḏah the stock and the store, all the supply of bread and all the supply of water;
[2] the mighty man and the man of battle, the judge and the prophet, and the diviner and the elder;
[3] the commander of fifty and the highly respected man, and the counsellor and the skilled craftsman, and the clever enchanter. [4] “And I shall make youths their heads, and children shall rule over them.
[5] And the people shall exert pressure, man on man, man on his neighbour; the young rise up against the older, and the lightly esteemed against the highly esteemed.”
[6] When a man takes hold of his brother in the house of his father, by the garment, and says, “Come, be a chief over us, and let this ruin be under your hand,”
[7] he shall swear in that day, saying, “I am not a healer, for in my house is neither bread nor garment; do not make me a chief of the people.”
[8] For Yerushalayim has stumbled, and Yehuḏah has fallen, because their tongue and their doings are against יהוה, to provoke the eyes of His esteem.
Here's what I learned today, some of the so ial norms that govern I lives are actually taken away from the quality there of. For example: people will discredit you by saying you have an unclean house because having an unclean house by societal standards is frowned upon.
The truth is a person should be Leary of a clean house. If a place is too well organized. Something is amidst. An unclean house means nothing.
The reality is a house should look lived in, this is totally acceptable. Never having to clean your house means you are not close to god. It's the act of cleaning that is next to godliness.
People oftentimes use scriptures to divide and that's never been it's intended use. But it will depend on whom you serve. Everyone glorifies whom they serve, because it's required.
Other people in our lives and how we react to them are reflections of our relationship to our Higher Self and where we’re not in alignment with and coming from truth and love.
Projecting and reflecting we are not our own person. Therefore we’re just magnets attracting, repelling and reacting to each other. The goal is correction: To become our own person, open to love, be transparent and live and let live in loving ways.
