I wanted to know why Moses?  who is he? It turns out Moses was a great leader, such a unique human being Yahweh, revealed himself to Moses.

God reveals his name to Moses as “I am,” from the Hebrew root Χ”.Χ•.Χ™, “being.” The name YHWH, however, originates in Midian, and derives from the Arabic term for “love, desire, or passion.” According to the Bible, Moses was the prophet who led Israel out of slavery in Egypt and brought them to the edge of the promised land. The Old Testament

mentions him 767 times, making him one of the most prominent people in the Old Testament.

Moses was taught all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was powerful in both speech and action.

Hebrews 11:24-25

New Living Translation       It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.  He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin.

Exodus 2:11-12

Many years later, when Moses had grown up, he went out to visit his own people, the Hebrews, and he saw how hard they were forced to work. During his visit, he saw an Egyptian beating one of his fellow Hebrews. After looking in all directions to make sure no one was watching, Moses killed the Egyptian and hid the body in the sand.

He chose capable men from all over Israel and appointed them as leaders over the people. He put them in charge of groups of one thousand, one hundred, fifty, and ten. These men were always available to solve the people’s common disputes. They brought the major cases to Moses, but they took care of the smaller matters themselves.
