Scripture Reading: Psalm 91:1-2 (KJV)
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”
As we stand in the face of nature’s might, particularly the impending storm, Hurricane Milton, we are reminded of the power and majesty of the Creator. Just as the wind and the waves obey Him, so too must we place our faith in Yahusha, knowing that He is our refuge in times of trouble.
Today, we gather not in fear but in faith, knowing that Yahusha's protection surrounds His children. In times of storms—both physical and spiritual—we must be anchored in the promises of Yahusha’s love, His grace, and His power to protect us.
Yahusha Is Our Shelter in the Storm
In Psalm 46:1, it says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” No matter how strong the winds of Hurricane Milton might blow, we serve a God who is even stronger. The storm may rage, but we are safe under His protection. Just as Yahusha calmed the storm for His disciples, He remains the same today. We are not alone in the face of this hurricane; His Spirit dwells with us, shielding us from harm.
Faith! Over Fear!
Fear is natural when we see the storm clouds gathering. But Yahusha calls us to trust Him beyond what we can see. In Mark 4:39, when the disciples were afraid, Jesus rebuked the storm and said, “Peace, be still.” And the wind ceased. Yahusha demonstrated that He has authority over nature, and He continues to have that power today. In the same way, we must hold onto peace, declaring, “Peace, be still” over our hearts and homes.
Let us not give fear a place in our hearts. Rather, stand firm in the knowledge that we are under divine protection. Isaiah 41:10 encourages us: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
The Power of Prayer in the Storm
Prayer is our strongest defense against any storm. In Philippians 4:6-7, we are reminded to “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” We must call upon Yahusha, not only for our protection but for the protection of our neighbors, our communities, and all who may be in the path of the hurricane.
As we pray, we invite the presence of Yahusha to intervene. We ask for wisdom, guidance, and calmness. We ask for His angels to surround us, as it is written in Psalm 91:11, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”
A Community of Care and Support
As we prepare for Hurricane Milton, it is important to remember that Yahusha calls us to care for one another. Just as the early church shared resources and took care of one another, we must reach out to those who are vulnerable—our elders, our neighbors, and those without resources.
Let WBJMinistries be a beacon of hope and help. Yahusha instructs us to love our neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:31), and that love is our response in times of need. Whether it’s through offering shelter, sharing resources, or simply a prayer, our acts of kindness shine the light of Yahusha to those around us.
In these uncertain times, we rest in the certainty of Yahusha’s protection. As Hurricane Milton approaches, let us be wise in our preparations but even more rooted in prayer and faith. Remember, no storm is greater than our God. He is our protector, our shield, and our ever-present help in times of trouble. As we walk through the storm, let us declare, “Yahusha is my refuge and fortress, in Him will I trust.”

Prayer for Protection Against the Storm
Heavenly Father, we come before You, knowing that You are in control of all things. We lift up our voices in faith, asking for Your protection against Hurricane Milton. Shield us, Lord, with Your mighty hand. Keep our families, our homes, and our communities safe from harm. We place our trust in You, Yahusha, for You are our refuge and strength. Surround us with Your peace and give us the wisdom to respond with courage. May Your angels watch over us, and may we emerge from this storm stronger in our faith and closer to You. In Yahusha’s mighty name, we pray. Amen.
