πŸ•Š️ Sermon ~When the Heart and Mind Collide

πŸ•Š️ WBJMinistries Sermon~ The Battle Between Knowing and Feeling

πŸ›πŸ™πŸΌπŸ€²πŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ“Ώ

Abba Yah, Creator of all understanding and compassion, open our hearts to your wisdom and open our minds to your peace. Let us not be divided within but unified in Your truth. May this word bring light to every shadow of indecision. Halleluyah.

πŸ“– Scripture Reading

Halaleyah Scriptures ~ Proverbs (Mishle) 3:5-6
“Trust in Yahuah with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He makes your paths straight.”

🧠 The Image Before Us ~ In this image, we see two unlikely fighters, your heart and your brain. Donned with boxing gloves. The heart stands for emotion, passion, memory, and intuition. The brain stands for logic, knowledge, and strategy. This is not just art, it is anthropology, psychology, and spiritual warfare in visual form.

The caption says;

> “Your worst battle is between what you know and what you feel.”

It reflects the human condition; pulled between the head and the heart, between facts and faith, between fear and fire. 🌍 Geography & Anthropology
In African spiritual traditions, such as the reverence of Amadlozi (ancestral spirits), the heart is considered the center of intuition and memory. Among Buddhists, detachment from emotion is a virtue, while in Islamic and Catholic mysticism, the heart is where divine love is felt. In Kemetic (ancient Egyptian) belief, the heart is weighed against Ma’at, the feather of truth. In modern neuroscience, the limbic system (emotion) and prefrontal cortex (reason) constantly interact. Social scientists have found that decision-making is rarely just logical or emotional. It is a tug-of-war. This battle is universal. Cross-cultural. Eternal.

πŸ“Š Applied Statistics & Social Science

A recent study in behavioral economics showed that people who make decisions based solely on logic tend to regret missing emotional opportunities, while those who follow emotion alone suffer from impractical outcomes. The balance is key. We need emotional intelligence and cognitive reasoning, just like Yahusha displayed when he wept with compassion and rebuked with divine clarity. ✨ Symbolism of Light ~ In Hebrew thought, light symbolizes knowledge, while fire symbolizes passion. What happens when the light is bright but the fire is out? Or when the fire rages yet the light goes dim? The brain may tell you what is smart.
The heart tells you what feels right.
Yahuah says; “Walk in My Way, and I will show you the path where both can meet.” πŸ—️ Museum Moment ~ At the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in NYC, there is a piece called The Lovers by RenΓ© Magritte. Two people kiss, covered by cloth. Blind love. No logic. No reason. Just feeling.
However Scripture teaches discernment.
We must not be blinded by either emotion or knowledge. We must see in the Ruach (Spirit). πŸͺΆ Quote to Reflect

> "The heart has its reasons of which reason knows nothing."
— Blaise Pascal, philosopher & theologian πŸ•―️ Closing Message ~

When the heart wants to hold on, however the mind says let go. Go to Yahuah in prayer.
When your emotions say “stay,” though wisdom says “move”~ seek His face.
The true victory is when the heart and the mind both submit to the Spirit. Because the worst battle…
…is not the one between the heart and brain~
…it is the one where neither consults the Creator.

πŸ›πŸ™πŸΌπŸ€²πŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ“Ώ

Yahuah, may we bring both our thoughts and our emotions into alignment with your will. Let our mind not be puffed up, and our heart not be overwhelmed. Let us trust you above all. May the light of wisdom and the fire of faith burn together in peace. Halleluyah.
