equality vs equity

6 = EQUALITY – to be equal in all things, such as knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. 1+2+3=6. Symbolic to the devil and the woman, whose limitation is 6. To summarize: Equality means that the law and government treats everyone the same, irrespective of their status or identity.

My son, if you accept my words, And treasure up my commands with you, So that you make your ear attend to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding;
Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 2:1‭-‬2

Equity means that, in some circumstances, people need to be treated differently in order to provide meaningful equality of opportunity. Equity is the ownership of any asset after any liabilities associated with the asset are cleared.

For if you cry for discernment, Lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as hidden treasures,
Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 2:3‭-‬4

For example, if you own a car worth $25,000, but you owe $10,000 on that vehicle, the car represents $15,000 equity. It is the value or interest of the most junior class of investors in assets. Equality is the state of being equal, especially in status, rights and opportunities.

 Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources and opportunities, regardless of their circumstances. Equality is the state of being equal, especially in status, rights and opportunities.

Then you would understand the fear of יהוה, And find the knowledge of Elohim. For יהוה gives wisdom; Out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding. And He treasures up stability for the straight, A shield to those walking blamelessly,
Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 2:5‭-‬7

Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources and opportunities, regardless of their circumstances. For example, equality would be giving everyone the same type of ladder to pick mangoes at the top of a tree.

Equity would be realising that not everyone can use the same type of ladder and providing another way for them to reach the mangoes at the top of the tree.To watch over the paths of right-ruling, And the way of His lovingly-commited ones He guards.

Then you would understand righteousness And right-ruling, and straightness – Every good path.
Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 2:8‭-‬9

If fairness is the goal, equality and equity are two processes through which we can achieve it. Equality simply means everyone is treated the same exact way, regardless of need or any other individual difference. Equity, on the other hand, means everyone is provided with what they need to succeed.
