Moral relativism—the idea that truth and morality are subjective and can shift based on circumstances—has crept into our lives and left many wandering without a compass. This sermon, rooted in Scripture and the wisdom of WBJMinistries, will demonstrate through a family’s story how Yahusha’s eternal truth remains constant, even as the cosmos itself declares His glory.
The Shattered Compass
Verse: "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God/Elohim." -(Tellihim)-Psalm 14:1 (KJV)
Verse: "For You have magnified Your word above all Your Name." - Halaleyah Scriptures,(Tellihim)- Psalm 138:2
In a small suburban town, the Carter family seemed perfect on the surface. David, the father, was a hardworking businessman; Maria, his wife, was a teacher; and their two children, Elena and Jordan, were the picture of promise. Yet, the family had grown apart. David believed success justified cutting corners at work, Maria felt morals could change depending on the needs of her students, and the children absorbed this mindset.
One night, Elena asked, “Dad, how do I know what’s right if it depends on the situation?” David hesitated, realizing he had no clear answer. That evening, as the family looked at the stars, Maria said, “The cosmos is vast and mysterious, like truth. Maybe what’s right changes depending on where you stand.”
The Guiding Star
Verse: "Forever, O Yahusha, Your Word stands firm in the heavens." - Halaleyah Scriptures, (Tellihim)-Psalm 119:89
Verse: "Jesus Christ/Yahusha the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." - Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)
Weeks later, Maria’s sister, Ruth, visited. She was a member of WBJMinistries and shared her faith openly. “The truth isn’t like the shifting stars; it’s the Guiding Star that never moves,” Ruth explained. She read (Tellihim)-Psalm 119:105, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Ruth told them a story about sailors navigating by the North Star. “Without a fixed point, they’d be lost at sea. Yahusha’s Word is our eternal compass. Moral relativism is like ignoring the North Star and trusting the waves instead.”
Her words stirred something in Maria and David, but they weren’t ready to change yet.
A Crisis in the Cosmos
Verse: "The heavens declare the glory of Elohim; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." (Tellihim)- Psalm 19:1 (KJV)
Verse: "My people have perished for lack of knowledge." - Halaleyah Scriptures, Hosea 4:6
One fateful evening, a crisis struck. Jordan was caught cheating on a school exam, saying, “Mom, everyone else does it. It’s not wrong if it helps me succeed.” The same day, Elena was accused of bullying online, claiming, “They deserved it because they started it.”
The family’s foundation crumbled. David and Maria realized they had passed their moral confusion to their children. They turned to Ruth for help. She reminded them, “The heavens declare His glory. Even in chaos, Yahusha’s truth is written in the stars. But you must seek His Word for knowledge and wisdom.”
Recalibrating the Compass
Verse: "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." -(Yohanan )-John 8:32 (KJV)
Verse: "Teach me Your way, O Yahusha; let me walk in Your truth." - Halaleyah Scriptures,(Tellihim)-Psalm 86:11
The family began studying Scripture together, integrating Halaleyah Scriptures and the KJV. They learned that truth isn’t subjective but rooted in Yahusha’s unchanging nature. David repented for his dishonesty at work, Maria recommitted to teaching integrity, and the children started making amends for their actions.
Ruth encouraged them to write down their commitments to Yahusha’s Word. “This is your family’s covenant, like the eternal covenant Yahusha has with us.”
The Eternal Compass
Verse: "I am the way, the truth, and the life* no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - (Yohanan )-John 14:6 (KJV)
Verse: "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing before You, O Yahusha." - Halaleyah Scriptures,(Tellihim)-Psalm 19:14
Months later, the Carter family stood under the stars again. This time, they didn’t see shifting truths but the firm foundation of Yahusha’s Word. Together, they prayed, thanking Yahusha for being their eternal compass.
Their story became an inspiration, shared through WBJMinistries. Maria reflected, “Moral relativism had us lost, but Yahusha’s truth brought us home.”
Like the cosmos, Yahusha’s truth is vast yet constant, guiding us through life’s storms. WBJMinistries calls us to reject moral relativism and embrace Yahusha as our eternal compass.
Final Verse: "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth." - (Ephisiym)-Ephesians 6:14 (KJV)
Let us commit to living and sharing this truth, for it is our light in the darkness.
