Embracing Divine Rest: The Power and Peace of the Sabbath Day

Sabbath Day Sermon- The Rest That Restores

Greetings, beloved saints of WBJMinistries! I stand before you today to share a word of passion, purpose, and power concerning the holy Sabbath Day. This day, ordained by Yahusha Himself, is not merely a commandment; it is a divine invitation to rest in His presence and find renewal for our souls.

Let us begin with the Word: From the Halaleyah Scriptures, in Exodus 20:8-11, we read: "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set-apart. Six days you labor and shall do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of Yahusha your Elohim. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days Yahusha made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, Yahusha blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart."

This Scripture reveals to us that the Sabbath is not just about physical rest, but a sacred act of faith. We rest because Yahusha rested. We pause, not in idleness, but in deep reverence, knowing that the Creator of the universe ordained this holy day for us to reconnect with Him.

The Power of Rest in a Restless World
We live in a world that glorifies hustle. The constant busyness, the endless striving – it drains us. But the Sabbath is Yahusha’s antidote to this world’s madness. It’s a holy time, an oasis in the desert of life’s demands. When we honor the Sabbath, we are stepping out of the world’s systems and stepping into Yahusha’s rhythm of grace. We are reminded that our value is not in our work but in our worship.

Hear me, WBJMinistries: The Sabbath is about renewal! In Isaiah 58:13-14, it says, "If you do turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My set-apart day, and shall call the Sabbath ‘a delight,’ the set-apart day of Yahusha, esteemed, and shall esteem it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words, then you shall delight yourself in Yahusha. And I shall cause you to ride on the heights of the earth, and feed you with the inheritance of Ya’aqob your father. For the mouth of Yahusha has spoken!"

Let that truth sink into your heart: when we call the Sabbath a delight, Yahusha promises to lift us up! He promises to feed us from His own hand, to provide for us in ways we could never imagine. This isn’t just a day of rest, beloved – it’s a day of replenishment! Our strength is restored, our joy is renewed, and our purpose is realigned with His divine will.

A Day of Relationship and Reflection
The Sabbath is more than just a commandment; it is an intimate day for relationship with Yahusha. In this day of rest, we draw closer to Him and we draw closer to one another. We gather together, as a ministry, as families, to reflect on His goodness, to share in His love, and to rest in His presence.

When we set aside our work, our busyness, and our distractions, we give ourselves over to the One who can truly sustain us. We honor Yahusha not just with our lips, but with our time. As you sit with your family, reflect on the week, and look ahead, remember that Yahusha has set this day apart for YOU!

WBJMinistries, let us not forget the words of Ezekiel 20:12: "And I gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between Me and them, to know that I am Yahusha who sets them apart."

The Sabbath is a sign! It is a symbol of our covenant with Yahusha. Every time we honor this holy day, we declare to the world that we are His, and He is ours. We are set apart, chosen, loved, and empowered by His Spirit.

The Blessing of Obedience
The blessings that come with honoring the Sabbath are manifold. When we observe this day, we are walking in obedience, and obedience unlocks the door to Yahusha’s favor. The world may tell us we can’t afford to rest – that we must keep working to achieve our goals, to keep up with the demands of life. But Yahusha tells us something different. He says, "Rest in Me, and I will give you everything you need."

As it is written in Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in Yahusha, and He will give you the desires of your heart."

By delighting in the Sabbath, we are placing our trust in Yahusha’s provision, protection, and promises. We are surrendering our struggles and allowing His peace to reign in our hearts. That is the power of the Sabbath – it is not just a day off; it is a day where Heaven meets Earth, where we touch the heart of our Creator, and He touches ours in return.

Prayer
As we close today, I encourage you to embrace the Sabbath with all your heart. See it not as a burden, but as a blessing. Let us lay aside our work, our worries, and our weariness, and enter into Yahusha’s rest. May the Sabbath be for you, beloved, a day of restoration, joy, and peace. May it draw you closer to Him and fill you with the strength you need for the days ahead.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of the Sabbath. We thank You for the rest that restores our souls, for the peace that passes all understanding, and for the joy that comes from being in Your presence. Help us to honor this day, to set it apart as holy, and to find our true rest in You. In Yahusha’s mighty name, Amen!

Shabbat Shalom, WBJMinistries! May you walk in the fullness of Yahusha’s blessings, today and always.
