Once upon a time, in a bustling city filled with noise, distractions, and countless voices, there was a small ministry nestled in the heart of it all. It was called WBJMinistries, a beacon of light for those searching for truth.
The founder, a woman named Minister Jones, had dedicated her life to sharing the Word of Yahusha, offering not only wisdom but hope to the weary. She often began her messages with the words of Tehillim (Psalms) 119:105-
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
One chilly morning, as dawn broke and the city began to stir, Minister Jones rose before the sun, stepping into the quiet hours between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.—her sacred time of renewal. With her Halleluyah Scriptures open before her, she meditated on Mishle (Proverbs) 3:5-6-
"Trust in Yahusha with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
She felt a stirring within her spirit and knew she was to deliver a sermon unlike any other—a story of boldness, grace, and unwavering faith.
The Story of the Lamp
Minister Jones began her sermon with this tale*
“Long ago, there was a village where darkness reigned. The people had forgotten the light, their lamps extinguished by fear, doubt, and worldly distractions. But among them was a young woman named Emunah (Faith), who refused to let her lamp go out.
She clung to the words of Yahusha, as written in Yoḥanan (John) 8:12:
‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.’
Each day, Emunah filled her lamp with oil—the oil of prayer, the oil of wisdom, and the oil of action. She shared her light with others, often reciting Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:14-16:
‘You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden... Let your light so shine before men, so that they see your good works and praise your Father who is in the heavens.’
Yet the darkness fought back, whispering lies of insufficiency and despair. Still, Emunah stood firm, recalling the promise of Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 40:31-
‘But those who wait on Yahusha renew their strength, they raise up the wing like eagles, they run and are not weary, they walk and do not faint.’
The Wisdom of the Ages
Minister Jones paused, looking at her congregation with eyes filled with both tenderness and fire.
“You see,” she said, “Emunah understood something philosophers like Aristotle and Marcus Aurelius often taught: that true strength lies not in avoiding struggle, but in meeting it with virtue and perseverance. Emunah knew the power of what Aristotle called eudaimonia—flourishing through purpose.”
She continued, “But her true source of wisdom wasn’t philosophy alone; it was the eternal truth of Scripture. She knew, as Sha’ul (Paul) wrote in (Philippiyim)- Philippians 4:13, ‘I have strength to do all, through Messiah who empowers me.’
A Challenge for Us All
Minister Jones then turned the story back to her listeners.
“WBJMinistries,” she said, “is like Emunah’s lamp. We are called to be a light in a world that often chooses darkness. But how do we keep our lamps burning? By filling them with oil daily:
Through prayer, as Yahusha taught in Mattithyahu (Matthew) 6:9-13.
Through study, meditating on verses like Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 6:6-9, which tells us to write His Word on our hearts.
Through action, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and uplifting the brokenhearted, as Yahusha exemplified in(Luqas)- Luke 4:18-19.”
She ended with a final call to action-
“Let us be bold like Emunah. Let us trust in Yahusha Ha’Mashiach and live by His Word, knowing that as we shine our light, we fulfill His purpose. And remember, as Tehillim (Psalms) 27:1 proclaims, ‘Yahusha is my light and my deliverance; whom should I fear?’
Today, go forth, WBJMinistries family, and be the lamp that never fails.
