HalleluYah! Welcome to today’s message brought to you by WBJMinistries. We are gathered to dive deeply into the Word of Yahusha, focusing on a powerful teaching from Romiyim 8:5-7. This passage, as expressed in both the Halaleyah Scriptures and traditional translations, is a clarion call to align our lives with the Ruach Ha’Qodesh (Set-Apart Spirit). It contrasts the paths of the flesh and the Ruach, challenging us to examine where our minds dwell.
Let us read the Word from the Halaleyah Scriptures-
Romiyim 8:5-7 (Halaleyah Scriptures)
> "For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the matters of the flesh, but those who live according to the Ruach, the matters of the Ruach. For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Ruach is life and shalom. Because the mind of the flesh is enmity towards Elohim, for it does not subject itself to the Torah of Elohim, neither indeed is it able."
Now, hear it from a traditional Bible (KJV)
Romans 8:5-7 (KJV)
> "For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be."
A Tale of Two Mindsets*
The Word sets before us two distinct paths-
The Flesh (Basar)- This represents the desires and preoccupations of our fallen nature—selfishness, pride, greed, and all that is opposed to Elohim's Torah.
The Spirit (Ruach) This embodies the transformative power of Yahusha working within us to bear fruits of righteousness, self-control, humility, and love.
The contrast is clear
The mind of the flesh leads to death, both spiritual and eternal.
The mind of the Ruach leads to life and shalom—a completeness and harmony that only Yahusha can provide.
Beloved, where is your mind dwelling today? WBJMinistries calls you to move boldly toward life and shalom.
The Struggle Within
Sha’ul (Paul) reminds us that the flesh is hostile toward Elohim. Why? Because the carnal mind refuses to submit to His Torah. This is not a mere struggle of willpower—it’s a spiritual battle.
But take heart! Yahusha Ha’Mashiach has given us victory through His sacrifice. The Ruach empowers us to overcome. WBJMinistries encourages you to pray daily for the Ruach to lead you. Reject the old ways and embrace His commandments, for they are not burdensome—they are life.
Grace and Power to Overcome
Through Yahusha, we are not condemned to live according to the flesh. Romiyim 8:1 declares-
> "There is then now no condemnation to those who are in Mashiach Yahusha, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Ruach."
What a promise! You are empowered by His grace to shift your focus-
From selfishness to service
From chaos to shalom
From sin to righteousness
