The Power of Listening- A Path to Grace and Deeper Connection

The Man Who Learned to Listen – A Story of Grace and Communication

Once there was a man named Theodore, a passionate and fiery spirit who carried a deep desire to serve others. Theodore was a man of action, a doer in every sense. However, as the years passed, he noticed something missing in his personal life. Despite his many works, his relationships felt strained, and his prayers seemed to echo in silence. Frustrated and confused, Theodore sought guidance.

One quiet evening, as Theodore prayed, his spirit was drawn to the Scriptures. He opened his Bible, and his eyes landed on (Mishlĕy)-Proverbs 18:13-
"He who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him."

Convicted by this verse, Theodore realized he often spoke more than he listened—both to people and to Yahusha. He was quick to advise, but slow to understand. He longed to change, nevertheless, didn’t know how.

The next morning, Theodore stumbled upon a flyer for WBJMinistries, an online ministry dedicated to healing hearts and equipping believers through the power of Yahusha's word. The flyer invited him to join a study on communication titled, “Speak Life, Listen Well.” Intrigued, Theodore signed up.

The Turning Point

During one session, the teacher opened the Halleluyah Scriptures and read from Tehillim (Psalms) 34:11-13
"Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of Yahusha. Who is the man who desires life, who loves many days, in order to see good? Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit."

The words struck Theodore like a lightning bolt. For the first time, he understood that listening was not just about hearing—it was about reverence, humility, and obedience.

The teacher then shared a story from the traditional Scriptures about Yahusha’s encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well( Yohanan )-(John 4:7-26). Theodore marveled at how Yahusha listened to her pain and spoke life into her heart. Yahusha didn’t rush to judge or preach; He communicated with wisdom, love, and truth.

Inspired, Theodore committed to becoming a better listener. He turned to Ya’aqov (James) 1:19-20-
"So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of Elohim."

The Practice of Grace

Theodore began to put these lessons into practice. One day, a friend named Paul came to him with a heavy heart. Instead of jumping in with advice, Theodore paused. He prayed silently for wisdom, remembering Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 15:1-
"A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

He listened intently as Paul shared his struggles, nodding and asking thoughtful questions. By the end of the conversation, Paul said, “Thank you, Theodore. You didn’t just hear me—you understood me. I felt Yahusha’s love through you.”

This moment solidified Theodore’s transformation. He began applying these principles to his personal life through WBJMinistries. He hosted online seminars on productive communication, using Scriptures like Qolasim (Colossians) 4:6-
"Let your word always be with favour, seasoned with salt, so that you know how you ought to answer each one."

He even taught the power of silence, reflecting on (Qoheleth)-Ecclesiastes 3:7-
"A time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silent, and a time to speak."

The Blessing of Transformation

Theodore’s relationships blossomed. His prayers became richer, as he learned to sit quietly before Yahusha, meditating on Tehillim (Psalms) 46:10-
"Be still, and know that I am Elohim."

Through listening, Theodore found not only deeper connections with others but also profound intimacy with Yahusha. He realized that communication is not just about words; it’s about grace, patience, and love.

Theodore’s journey reminds us all of the words in Mattithyahu (Matthew) 11:15-
"He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"

Today, WBJMinistries continues to thrive because of Theodore’s story. The ministry echoes his message- Listening is a form of worship, and productive communication is a gift that glorifies Yahusha.

Call to Action

Let us follow Theodore’s example. Let us listen with our hearts, speak with our spirits, and glorify Yahusha in all we do. As we journey together, may we embrace the wisdom of Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 25:11-
"A word spoken at the right time is like apples of gold in settings of silver."

Halleluyah!
